Afra Saraçoğlu addresses positive hair drug test results

Turkish actress Afra Saraçoğlu has issued a statement regarding a drug investigation following a positive result in a hair follicle analysis. Saraçoğlu stated that while her hair test showed traces of a substance, her blood and urine samples returned negative results. She suggested that the hair analysis might be the result of passive exposure or contact during crowded professional events.

Saraçoğlu noted that she returned to Turkey from abroad immediately upon learning of the investigation and has cooperated fully with judicial authorities. She also clarified that no illegal substances were found during searches conducted at her home.

Forensic expert Dr. Mehmet Görgülü commented on the technical aspects of hair testing, noting that while environmental contact can affect hair surfaces, samples are typically washed with chemical solutions to remove external substances before analysis. He explained that the presence of metabolites—substances produced when the body processes drugs—is the key indicator of actual consumption, though rare instances of environmental exposure in enclosed spaces can occur.
