Afragola cracks down on illegal street races and unlicensed funeral firms
Local officials in Afragola, Italy, are intensifying enforcement against illegal activities. Europa Verde deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli and regional representative Salvatore Iavarone have urged immediate police action to stop nightly and weekend street‑racing events in the Ipercoop supermarket parking lot, where cars and motorcycles perform high‑speed runs, wheel‑spins, wheel‑ies and other dangerous maneuvers. They called for a permanent police presence, vehicle seizures and identification of participants to prevent a possible tragedy.
Separately, the Afragola Municipal Police, led by commander Col. Antonio Piricelli, have stepped up commercial inspections and fined two funeral‑service businesses that were operating without the required authorisations. The sanctions aim to enforce local regulations and protect public safety.
Both actions reflect a broader municipal effort to curb illicit behaviour and unlicensed enterprises in the city.
