Afragola murder trial: Teacher testifies victim feared ex-partner

During the murder trial of 14-year-old Martina Carbonaro, her teacher and intern, Emilia Marino, testified that the teenager intended to end her relationship with her ex-partner but was afraid to do so. Carbonaro was found dead in an abandoned house in Afragola, Naples, on May 26, 2025.

Marino, who described Carbonaro as a “sunny, cheerful, and very sweet girl,” testified that the victim had confided in her about frequent arguments and her desire to leave the relationship. The teacher noted that Carbonaro had recently mentioned communicating with another boy online.

The trial is scheduled to continue with the testimony of a chat friend on October 30. The defendant, Alessio Tucci, is expected to testify on November 24, through his lawyer Mario Mangazzo. An intermediate hearing is set for November 10 to complete the prosecution's witness examinations.
