Afreximbank reports 30% net income rise in H1 2026

Afreximbank reported a 30 per cent increase in net income for the first half of 2026, reaching 534.7 million dollars. The bank's total assets and contingencies grew by 7.8 per cent to 52.3 billion dollars.

This growth was primarily driven by increased lending, with net loans and advances rising to 35.4 billion dollars. The bank also noted an improvement in asset quality, as its non-performing loan ratio decreased to 2.20 per cent from 2.43 per cent at the end of 2025. Net interest income rose by 22 per cent to 1.0 billion dollars, while fee and commission income saw a 15 per cent increase.
