Afreximbank to host AfSNET investment conference in Calabar
Afreximbank, in partnership with the Cross River State Government, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and the Forum of State Investment Promotion Agencies in Nigeria, will host the sixth African Sub-Sovereign Governments Network (AfSNET) Investment Conference in Calabar from November 12 to 14, 2026.
Themed ‘The Role of Sub-Sovereigns in Catalysing Development Through Trade and Investment’, the conference aims to transform regional investment proposals into bankable projects. The event will focus on mobilizing capital for infrastructure, industrialization, and cross-border trade to support the African Continental Free Trade Area. The program includes investment promotion training, project preparation workshops, and business-to-government deal rooms.
Since its establishment in 2021, AfSNET has facilitated more than $3.2 billion in investment opportunities and transactions, attracting over 1,400 delegates from 21 African countries. In Cross River State, recent developments include a $20 million commitment from ValueFronteira Limited to develop a 4,000-hectare oil palm plantation in the Yala Local Government Area.
