Africa energy leaders to discuss security and gas financing in Lagos
Industry leaders and policymakers are set to convene in Lagos to address energy security and the transition to natural gas across Africa. The OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week will celebrate its 20th anniversary from October 25 to 30, 2026, under the theme ‘Secure Energy, Shared Prosperity.’ The conference aims to examine strategies for improving energy affordability, strengthening midstream and downstream infrastructure, and driving sustainable growth within the petroleum sector.
In a related development, the Africa Interviews Sustainability Forum on October 21 will feature a debate between Tony Attah, CEO of Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, and Dapo Filani, CEO of Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited. The discussion will focus on the financing of Africa’s gas future and the role of natural gas in bolstering energy security and industrial development. The forum seeks to address the financial and technical barriers to utilizing gas as a bridge for economic growth amidst global pressures to transition away from fossil fuels.
