AfriCa Fest Sept-Îles final day cancelled due to weather

The inaugural AfriCa Fest Sept-Îles, a cultural festival celebrating African, Caribbean, and Afro-descendant cultures, concluded prematurely due to inclement weather. Organizers announced on Sunday morning the cancellation of the final day of festivities at Vieux-Quai to ensure the safety of the public, artists, exhibitors, and volunteers.

The cancellation resulted in the loss of the scheduled closing performance by Congolese artist Joyce N’sana. While the weather prevented the planned conclusion, organizers noted that the first two days of the festival successfully brought together local residents and immigrant communities through music, dance, gastronomy, and arts.

Organized by the Centre ISSAMBA Côte-Nord, the festival aimed to build community bridges and promote intercultural living. Those who purchased tickets for the cancelled Sunday session will be contacted regarding next steps.
