Africa Mindset Reset Forum convenes in Kigali to discuss continental development
The Africa Mindset Reset Forum, hosted by the Africa School of Governance at the Kigali Convention Centre in Rwanda, has convened leaders, academics, and innovators to discuss the continent's economic and technological future. A central theme of the discussions is “Meta-Africanism,” a concept aimed at evolving Pan-Africanism through increased integration, self-determination, and practical cooperation to address modern challenges like digitalization and global trade.
Dr. Paul Kariuki of the University of Johannesburg noted that the forum encourages a shift in perspective, stating, “We cannot solve today’s problems with yesterday’s mindset.” He emphasized that Meta-Africanism seeks to strengthen existing foundations rather than replace them.
During the event, Kenyan comedian Crazy Kennar met Rwandan President Paul Kagame. The encounter followed the viral success of a skit featuring a Kagame lookalike, which had previously circulated widely online.
