Africa Mindset Reset Forum to convene leaders in Kigali

Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang will represent President John Dramani Mahama at the inaugural Africa Mindset Reset Forum in Kigali, Rwanda, on August 25 and 26, 2026. Organized by the African School of Governance (ASG), the event is expected to host approximately 1,000 leaders, with 80 percent of participants identified as young people and emerging leaders.

Under the theme ‘From Pan-Africanism to Meta-Africanism,’ the forum aims to shift Africa’s development focus from political unity toward building strong institutions, implementing homegrown solutions, and achieving tangible results. Keynote speakers and participants include former South African President Thabo Mbeki, former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, Rwandan President Paul Kagame, and former Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn.

The agenda includes discussions on translating African unity into concrete action, the management of the continent’s natural resources, and people-centered development. Proposed strategies involve facilitating movement across Africa and establishing a single African air transport market.
