Côte d'Ivoire to host 2027 U.S.-Africa Business Summit

Côte d'Ivoire has secured several major international agreements and hosting duties, strengthening its position as a regional economic and technological hub. The country is set to host the 2027 U.S.-Africa Business Summit, an event organized by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA). Announced by Minister of State Nialé Kaba, the summit aims to catalyze investment, trade, and strategic cooperation between Washington and the African continent.

In the technology sector, Côte d'Ivoire has officially signed the Artemis Accords, joining the NASA-led framework for peaceful lunar and Mars exploration. This makes the nation the 75th signatory globally and the ninth in Africa. The signing took place during the Africa Space Expo (ASPEX 2026) in Abidjan, highlighting the country's growing interest in space-related technologies, Earth observation, and scientific training.

These developments coincide with the Africa Space Expo, which brings together public and private actors to discuss the practical applications of space technology for development, including agriculture and connectivity.
