African cultural and women's empowerment initiatives mark 10-year milestones

Two pan-African initiatives are set to celebrate their tenth anniversaries in late 2026.

Fancy Africa will hold a six-day program from September 28 to October 3, 2026. The event aims to integrate fashion, culture, and business through a summit, masterclasses, workshops, and fashion shows. The program includes the Fancy Africa Awards and Gala to recognize creative professionals, alongside a new Digital Fancy Store designed to allow participating designers to accept pre-orders and sell collections.

Africa Mousso will mark its ten years of engagement with women from October 20 to 23, 2026, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Founded in 2016, the initiative focuses on women in the informal sector, such as traders and processors. The anniversary program includes a forum on peace and social cohesion, an exhibition, and training sessions for young girls in crafts like dyeing and weaving. Mali, Niger, and Guinea will participate as guests of honor.
