African entrepreneurship and fashion initiatives launch in Douala and Bamako
In Douala, Cameroon, the A&M Foundation has launched the fifth edition of its branding workshop in partnership with the Women Up Africa network. Held at the Douala Maritime Museum, the two-day training focuses on brand positioning, packaging, and e-commerce to enhance the competitiveness and visibility of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in both national and international markets.
Simultaneously, the third edition of Bamako Fashion Week is scheduled to take place from October 8 to 10, 2026, at the Modibo Keïta Memorial in Mali. The event focuses on African textile heritage, highlighting traditional materials such as bogolan, woven cotton, and local leathers. Organized by Mariam Bocoum and Makhossi, the week includes panels, masterclasses, and a fashion forum designed to connect artisans, weavers, and designers from across West Africa and the diaspora.
