African health summits scheduled for Kenya and Rwanda in 2026

Two major African health summits are scheduled to take place in late 2026, focusing on regulatory affairs and technological innovation.

AfriSummit 2026 will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 28 September to 2 October. Hosted under the auspices of the Kenyan Ministry of Health and the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, the event will focus on the pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostics sectors. The summit will feature two dedicated sessions: PharmaReg AfriSummit and MedDevReg AfriSummit. Key topics include local manufacturing, regulatory capacity, clinical research, and the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare.

Simultaneously, Rwanda will host the 5th Africa HealthTech Summit (AHTS) in Kigali from 30 September to 2 October 2026. Organized by DALA Africa in partnership with Africa CDC and Rwanda’s Ministry of Health, the summit aims to explore how intelligent health systems can improve access to care and support health workers. The event serves as a platform for policymakers, innovators, and investors to discuss digital transformation and inclusive health systems across the continent.
