African institutions and global partners sign new cooperation agreements

The African Development Bank Group and the United Nations have signed a Letter of Intent to strengthen cooperation on peacebuilding, crisis prevention, and resilience across Africa. Signed on the margins of the 81st United Nations General Assembly, the framework aims to combine the Bank’s development finance and technical expertise with the UN’s political and field capacities to support nationally led efforts in fragile settings.

Simultaneously, the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) and the END Fund have entered a strategic partnership to accelerate the control and elimination of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) within African Union Member States. This memorandum of understanding was established during a high-level strategy circle focused on financing Africa’s health sovereignty. The partnership seeks to address shifting global health financing landscapes by promoting domestic resource mobilization, private investment, and sustainable financing mechanisms to protect progress against NTDs.
