African leaders and activists receive high-level honors

Lieutenant-General Jean-Pierre Kasongo Kabwik, commander of the National Service, has been promoted to the rank of Commander by President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo. The distinction includes an agricultural merit medal, recognizing Kabwik’s efforts in the social and professional reintegration of thousands of young people, including former delinquents, through vocational training and community work.

In Burkina Faso, Dr. Arikana Chiedzo Chihombori, president of the Association for the Development of the African Diaspora (ADDI), was awarded the rank of Officer of the Order of Merit of Administration and Labor. The honor, presented by Foreign Minister Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré on behalf of President Ibrahim Traoré, recognizes Chihombori’s commitment to Pan-Africanism, African solidarity, and the economic sovereignty of the continent.
