African leaders pitch investment opportunities at New York forums

African nations and business leaders are utilizing the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York to pitch investment opportunities to global institutional investors.

In Kenya, CEOs are participating in the Bullish Africa 2026 forum. Frank Mwiti, CEO of the Nairobi Securities Exchange, stated the goal is to make African capital markets a preferred destination for long-term capital. The forum aims to connect African issuers with regulators, stock exchanges, and development finance institutions to accelerate capital flows into the continent.

Simultaneously, Côte d’Ivoire is hosting a Business and Investment Forum in partnership with the Corporate Council on Africa. The event seeks to translate the nation’s 2026–2030 National Development Plan into concrete projects. This follows a July milestone in Abidjan where the country generated approximately $80 billion in financing intentions, nearly four times its initial target. The forum will focus on sectors including infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and technology.
