African music trends highlight Kenyan Itoka festival and new artist releases

The second edition of Itoka is scheduled for August 29 at Eva’s Garden in Limuru, Kenya. Organized by Itoka and Manyatta, the event aims to showcase Kenyan culture, artistry, and fashion through a blend of soulful folk sounds, electronic dance music, Afro-house, and Afropop.

In the broader African music scene, several artists are gaining international traction. Nigerian street-pop artist Seyi Vibez released the single ‘BACK 2 U’ following his recent success with ‘GTA’. Additionally, Ghanaian singer-songwriter KiDi has collaborated with rapper Sarkodie on the track ‘IDK’, reflecting a trend of cross-border collaborations among African musicians.
