African nations eligible to vote for 2026 Ballon d’Or

Twenty African nations are eligible to participate in the voting process for the 2026 Ballon d’Or. Eligibility is determined by the FIFA world rankings in effect on September 8, 2026. The participating countries include Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Nigeria, Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Cameroon, Mali, South Africa, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Ghana, Guinea, Gabon, Angola, Uganda, Zambia, and Benin.

Each eligible country will have one specialized journalist on a 100-strong international jury. These journalists will rank 10 nominees, with points awarded from 15 for first place down to one for tenth place. African nations collectively hold 20% of the total votes.

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place in London on October 26. Current contenders for the prize include Harry Kane, Lamine Yamal, and Kylian Mbappe.
