African organizations promote artificial intelligence through regional initiatives

Various initiatives across Africa are focusing on the integration and development of artificial intelligence to drive social and economic growth.

In Montreal, the Chad Innovation Hub participated in the MTL connect event to strengthen international collaborations and increase the visibility of Chadian digital initiatives. Represented by CEO Hamid Khayar Oumar Defallah, the organization engaged in discussions regarding the transition from AI pilot projects to sustainable organizational use. Key topics included governance, infrastructure, and the necessity of adapting AI to local languages and specific regional needs, such as access to electricity and internet connectivity.

In Casablanca, Morocco, the Hack4Bladi national bootcamp brought together over 80 young people from across the country. Organized by the Casablanca-Settat regional department of youth in partnership with the National Institute of Innovation and Advanced Technologies (INITA), the program aimed to empower youth to design digital solutions for social problems. The initiative seeks to transform young citizens from mere consumers of technology into active innovators within the national digital landscape.
