African youth football teams begin major international preparations
The Cameroon U15 national team has begun intensive physical and tactical training at the FECAFOOT technical center in Odza. Led by coach Jean-Pierre Fiala, the squad is preparing for the inaugural FIFA U15 World Cup, scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan from October 22 to 31, 2026. The training focus aims to build a competitive 22-player core by emphasizing endurance, agility, and high-intensity capacity to meet international standards.
In Senegal, coach Lamine Sané has announced the official 25-player roster for the U17 national team. The squad features seven players from the previous African U17 championship-winning team, including goalkeeper Assane Sarr and midfielder Émile Niaga Sadio. The team aims to secure a historic triple victory in the UFOA-A tournament and pursue qualification for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
