Afriland Properties appoints Agatha Obiekwugo as Board Chairman

Afriland Properties Plc has appointed Agatha Obiekwugo as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors. She succeeds Emmanuel Nnorom, who is retiring after serving as Chairman for more than a decade.

Obiekwugo has been a member of the Afriland Properties board since October 2018, serving as a Non-Executive Director and participating in the Finance, Risk and General-Purpose Committee, as well as the Nomination, Audit and Governance Committee. She brings over 30 years of experience in sectors including banking, commerce, information technology, consulting, and oil and gas. She is also the founder and CEO of Adassa Energy Limited.

Managing Director and CEO Azubike Emodi expressed gratitude to Nnorom for his long-term stewardship and leadership. The company stated that Obiekwugo’s existing board experience is expected to provide continuity as the firm seeks to expand its real estate portfolio and strengthen its position within the Nigerian market.
