Afrim Gashi and IPU discuss gender equality in North Macedonia

Afrim Gashi, President of the Assembly of North Macedonia, met with Zeina Hilal, Director of the Gender and Youth Program at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), to discuss gender equality and youth engagement.

The meeting focused on upcoming initiatives aimed at advancing gender parity and combating digital violence against women in politics within North Macedonia. Discussions addressed the challenges women and youth face in digital spaces, including various forms of discrimination and the need for stronger institutional protection mechanisms.

Both parties emphasized the importance of addressing gender stereotypes to ensure equal opportunities for women in public life. They agreed to strengthen institutional cooperation and exchange best practices to create a more inclusive environment for democratic processes and policymaking.
