Afrim Gashi and Mahinur Ozdemir Göktaş discuss social policy

Afrim Gashi, President of the Assembly of North Macedonia, met with Mahinur Ozdemir Göktaş, Turkey's Minister of Family and Social Services, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and social policies.

The discussions focused on family protection, social services, and the exchange of best practices regarding vulnerable groups, including women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Gashi emphasized the role of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering institutional cooperation and developing accessible community-based social services.

Minister Göktaş highlighted the historical and cultural ties between the two nations. She noted that Turkey has declared the next ten years as the ‘Decade of Family and Population,’ with a strategic focus on strengthening family protection, encouraging marriage among youth, and increasing birth rates.
