Afrim Gashi calls for merit-based voting in Bërvenicë elections

Speaker of the Assembly Afrim Gashi has commented on the upcoming local elections in Bërvenicë, urging citizens to prioritize local issues over ethnic divisions. Gashi emphasized that voters should focus on candidates capable of addressing essential infrastructure needs, such as water supply, sewage, and road paving.

In the second round of the local elections, Stojanço Radičevski of the ‘Maqedonia Jote’ coalition, led by VMRO-DPMNE, will face Arkin Jahiji of the AKI coalition. Gashi expressed hope that the political culture would evolve beyond ethnic priorities to ensure the best candidate serves all citizens regardless of party, ethnicity, or religion.
