AFRIMMA 2026 honors Fally Ipupa and Davido in Dallas

The 12th edition of the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) took place from September 12 to 14, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. The event marked the awards' return after a two-year hiatus and included the inaugural AFRIMMA music festival, featuring cultural showcases, fashion, and food.

Congolese artist Fally Ipupa was named Artist of the Year. He also received the ‘Crossing Boundaries with Music’ award and a special recognition award from the city of Dallas. Innoss'B, another Congolese artist, was honored as the Best Francophone Artist.

Nigerian singer Davido won Album of the Year for his project ‘5ive’. The ceremony also recognized the duo BNXN and Sarz for Song of the Year. The awards highlighted the growing international influence of African music genres, particularly Afrobeats.
