Afropunk Brazil expands festival to Rio, Recife, and Salvador
Afropunk Brazil announced the rollout of its Experience events across three cities in 2026. General ticket sales for the Rio de Janeiro Experience began today, offering a 20% discount to Banco do Brasil Visa card holders; a pre‑sale for the Salvador and Recife editions opened with a 30% discount for the same card. Full‑price sales for both Rio and Recife will start on 6 August. The Rio show is scheduled for 15 August at the Terreirão do Samba, while the Recife edition will take place on 12 September at the Federal University of Pernambuco. The main Afropunk Brazil festival will be held in Salvador on 7‑8 November at the Parque de Exposições.
Sponsors for the three events include Banco do Brasil, Visa BB, Heineken, Coca‑Cola and GOL Smiles. Organisers project a 15‑20% increase in audience and economic impact compared with 2025. In 2025 the platform reached more than 12 million people across digital and physical channels, hosted 75 000 attendees in person, and the Salvador edition alone attracted 63 000 participants and generated roughly R$130 million in formal economic activity, drawing visitors from 36 countries, notably the United States, United Kingdom and France.
