AFSÜ dentistry students protest clinical training and fee changes

Students at Afyonkarahisar Health Sciences University (AFSÜ) Faculty of Dentistry are protesting a proposed change to the clinical training system and fee structure.

Fifth-year students report that the university plans to transition from a system of five half-days of clinical practice per week to three full days of clinical work and two days of theoretical lessons. While the total clinical time will increase, the university has informed students that their compensation will be reduced due to a decrease in the number of working days.

Students argue that this change constitutes a loss of rights, as they will be performing more labor for less pay. Additionally, they expressed concerns that the more intensive full-day schedule will make it difficult to manage essential sterilization processes for their clinical materials.
