AFTERSHOCK PC unveils Cherry Bloom custom desktop with heat-sensitive titanium flowers
Australian custom PC builder AFTERSHOCK has unveiled ‘Cherry Bloom’, a high-end gaming desktop featuring 70 hand-painted titanium flowers that react to internal temperatures. Unlike traditional RGB lighting, these thermal-sensitive blossoms physically open as the system components generate heat and close as the machine cools down.
The custom build is valued at approximately S$18,000 (roughly $14,000 USD) and features high-performance hardware, including an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, a Zotac GeForce RTX 5080 Solid OC graphics card, 64GB of DDR5 memory, and a 2TB SSD. The system is housed in a specialized chassis with a custom liquid cooling loop and eight cooling fans to manage the heat required to trigger the mechanical movement of the flowers.
While presented as a showcase concept, the build serves as a visual indicator of system load, turning heat generation into a kinetic art piece. The project involved two months of manual assembly and painting by the AFTERSHOCK team.
