Turkey expands healthcare infrastructure with new facilities

Several new healthcare facilities are being established or relocated in Turkey to improve regional medical access.

In Afyonkarahisar, the foundation stone has been laid for the İsmail Kumartaşlı District Polyclinic. Supported by the Kumartaşlı family and the Special Provincial Administration, the 2,500 square meter facility will house 20 specialist doctors and provide laboratory and X-ray services. The project is expected to be completed within approximately 10 months and aims to reduce the workload of the Afyonkarahisar State Hospital.

In Aksu, Antalya, construction has begun on the Fatma-Şevket Yüksel Family Health Center in the Cihadiye neighborhood. Funded by businessman Mehmet Yüksel, the three-story facility will include nine examination rooms and serve the Cihadiye and Pınarlı neighborhoods. Additionally, Balıkesir State Hospital has announced that its psychiatry services, including outpatient clinics and inpatient wards, will relocate to the former Chest Diseases Hospital building starting October 5, 2026.
