Afyonkarahisar women build geothermal greenhouses for soilless farming

In the Çobanlar district of Afyonkarahisar, local women are participating in the construction of geothermal greenhouses designed for soilless farming. The project aims to provide year-round agricultural production using geothermal energy, creating new employment opportunities for both young and older women in the region to support their family economies.

The first phase of the project will cover 65,000 square meters of enclosed area, with plans to expand the total greenhouse area to 700,000 square meters in subsequent stages. A significant portion of the products grown in these greenhouses is intended for export to international markets. Murat Kurga, a representative of the construction firm, stated that the project is designed to increase the region's agricultural capacity and create sustainable jobs.
