Ag-Tech adoption in Argentina exceeds global averages at Aapresid Congress
At the Aapresid 2026 Congress in Rosario, Argentina, industry leaders and experts discussed the integration of digital technologies and biotechnology to enhance agricultural productivity.
BASF presented an integrated strategy focusing on genetics, crop protection, and digital tools to improve efficiency and soil health. The company emphasized the importance of combining biotechnology and biological products to manage strategic crops such as corn, soy, and sunflower, aiming to anticipate production risks through data-driven decision-making.
Global experts from McKinsey, the USDA, and Embrapa also addressed the acceleration of Ag-Tech adoption. Data presented by McKinsey indicates that Argentina's digital tool implementation rate has reached 69%, surpassing the global average of 54% and exceeding Brazil's levels. Despite this growth, experts noted that structural challenges remain in Argentina, specifically regarding the need for better technical support and field-level training to realize full potential by 2040.
