Agartala expands tourism and hospitality infrastructure

Agartala is seeing significant developments in its tourism and hospitality sectors. Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a 104-key Gateway branded hotel in Agartala, Tripura. This brownfield project, in partnership with Samashti Hotels & Resorts Pvt Ltd, expands IHCL's presence in Northeast India and aims to meet rising hospitality demand driven by regional economic growth.

In tandem with hospitality growth, Tripura has launched a new app-based online cab and auto-rickshaw service at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport. The service, inaugurated by Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, is designed to improve connectivity for passengers and tourists. The initiative also includes the launch of a new tourism information centre and a TIC Metaverse service at the airport to provide digital experiences of the state's tourist attractions.
