AGASA launches sanitary certification campaign for Gabon fishing vessels

The Gabonese Food Safety Agency (AGASA), through its Fisheries Sanitary Directorate (DSH), has launched the 2026-2027 sanitary certification campaign for industrial fishing vessels and artisanal boats. This procedure is a prerequisite for the issuance of fishing licenses and authorizations for the year 2027.

The campaign aims to ensure the sanitary compliance of vessels to protect public health and maintain the credibility of the seafood sector. AGASA has called upon industrial shipowners, fishing cooperatives, and artisanal fishermen to adhere to a strict schedule for dossier submission, sanitary audits, and the collection of certifications.

Key dates include dossier reception from October 12 to November 13, 2026, and sanitary audits scheduled between October 19 and November 20. The collection of certifications will take place from October 26 to November 27. For artisanal fishermen, inspections will be conducted at various sites, including Barracuda Beach, Bac Aviation, Kiliba, Ambowè, CAPAL, Michel Marine, Razel, Bambouchine, and Cap Estérias.
