Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot to feature in new stage productions
New theatrical productions featuring Agatha Christie’s iconic detective, Hercule Poirot, have been announced for upcoming seasons in both the United Kingdom and Canada.
In Truro, Hall for Cornwall will present a stage adaptation of The Hollow from October 20 to 24, 2026. Directed by Lucy Bailey and adapted by Tamsin Oglesby, the production features Peter Polycarpou in the lead role of Poirot. The play is described as a psychological drama set in a country estate that descends into chaos following a gunshot.
In Canada, the Chemainus Theatre Festival will stage Peril in the Alps from September 25 to October 25. Written by Steven Dietz and inspired by Poirot Investigates, the production follows Poirot and Captain Hastings into the Swiss Alps. Ian Farthing will portray Poirot, with Ming Hudson playing Hastings. The production is noted for its comedic elements and a cast that portrays nearly 30 different characters.
