Agenas implements new healthcare models and telemedicine pilots in Italy

Agenas, the Italian National Agency for Regional Health Services, has completed reference models for preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic care pathways (Ppdta) targeting adults with diabetes mellitus, severe asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Developed in collaboration with Altems at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, these models utilize a value-based healthcare approach and integrate telemedicine to support prevention, early diagnosis, and chronic disease management.

In a related application of these technological advancements, the Alessandria Local Health Authority (ASL) has launched the ‘TRI.AGE’ project, funded by the PNRR (Mission 6 Health). This 18-month pilot program uses telemedicine to support 300 elderly residents over the age of 80. The initiative focuses on three core areas: remote cognitive stimulation to prevent mental decline, digital and nursing support for medication monitoring, and online group activities designed to reduce social isolation and loneliness.
