Agencia Nacional de Tierras advances land formalization in Huila

The National Land Agency (Agencia Nacional de Tierras) has conducted several land-related processes in the Huila department throughout 2026. These actions include the recovery of properties, the formalization of peasant land ownership, and the expansion of territories for indigenous communities.

Key achievements reported include the reincorporation of over 600 hectares to the Land Fund in Baraya and the allocation of 180 hectares to strengthen indigenous reservations in northern Huila. Additionally, 121 property titles were formalized in La Plata, covering 254 hectares for peasant families.

Lina María Garrido, the Director General of the agency appointed under the government of Abelardo de la Espriella, recently visited Neiva to review territorial office operations. Garrido emphasized the need to review agrarian files, control procedures, and ensure that citizen transactions remain free of charge.
