Agentic AI targets enterprise software maintenance and ERP evolution

Developments in Agentic AI are targeting the enterprise software sector, specifically aiming to transform how companies manage and maintain complex systems like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.

Rimini Street has released a whitepaper exploring the transition of ERP from a ‘System of Record’ to a ‘System of Action’ through Agentic AI. The company suggests that current ERP software is reaching functional and technological limits, and that AI-driven capabilities can better orchestrate real-time business actions and reduce the rising costs of upgrades.

In a related move within the software maintenance space, Dodge AI has raised $2.65 million in funding led by Accel and Google’s venture arm. The startup’s AI platform is designed to resolve incidents and change requests across enterprise applications such as SAP, Salesforce, and Microsoft Dynamics. By using long-horizon agents, Dodge AI aims to reduce the reliance on large offshore teams for manual maintenance, helping enterprises manage technical debt and document custom logic within their mission-critical systems.
