AgeWellJapan launches career service for professionals aged 55 and older
AgeWellJapan, a Tokyo-based company led by President Madoka Akagi, has launched ‘Age-Well Career,’ a service designed to connect professionals aged 55 and older with corporate challenges. The initiative aims to extend ‘contribution longevity’ by repurposing the specialized expertise of seniors to address modern workforce shortages and management needs.
The service operates in two primary areas. First, it matches senior experts in fields such as human resources, finance, sales, and international expansion with companies for project-based or temporary consulting roles. Second, it connects motivated seniors with labor-intensive sectors facing shortages, including nursing care, logistics, security, cleaning, and construction.
By offering flexible working styles such as spot shifts or short-term contracts, the program seeks to transform how society views aging, moving from a focus on how long one can work to how long one can remain a productive contributor to society.
