Aggelos 2 video game sequel announced for August 2026 release

Aggelos 2, the sequel to the 2019 action-adventure title Aggelos, is set for release on August 27, 2026. Developed by WonderBoy Bobi and published by PQube and PixelHeart, the game is slated for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Inspired by the Wonder Boy series, the game follows an Aggelos—a member of a supreme order of angels—tasked with defending the Kingdom of Lumen from an Army of Darkness. After losing their angelic powers, the protagonist must utilize a new form of darkness to survive and combat the invaders.

The gameplay maintains a Metroidvania structure featuring interconnected zones, platforming elements, and RPG mechanics. Key updates include a Dual Combat System and the addition of two distinct maps: one for the Kingdom of Lumen and another for the Demon Realm. Players can unlock abilities such as wings for aerial traversal and a grappling hook to navigate the environment.
