Agia Sofia Children's Hospital receives 24 new libraries

Twenty-four new libraries have been established in the waiting areas of the Agia Sofia General Children's Hospital in Greece. The initiative was implemented by the humanitarian organization Humanity Greece, supported by a donation from the family of Nikolaos and Katerina Lykardopoulou in memory of Giannis Kolotouras, the co-owner and General Manager of ZEUS+DIONE.

The libraries are fully equipped with over 2,000 selected children's book titles from Library4all and Humanity Greece, catering to various age groups. The project aims to provide moments of relaxation, creative engagement, and optimism for children being treated or visiting the hospital, fostering a more humanized environment within the medical setting.

Deputy Health Minister Marios Themistokleous attended the handover ceremony. He noted that a pediatric hospital is not only a place for medical treatment but often a space of anxiety for children, making such donations vital for ensuring peace and distraction outside of examination rooms.
