Agiasos Reading Room hosts cultural events in Lesvos

The Agiasos Reading Room held a two-day cultural event on October 3 and 4, featuring various activities that highlighted local traditions and artistic contributions.

The Reading Room’s theatrical department presented two performances at the Mytilene Municipal Theatre dedicated to the German dramatist and poet Bertolt Brecht, marking 70 years since his death. The productions, directed by Maria Aivaliotou, featured excerpts from Brecht’s works addressing fascism, war, and social contradictions, accompanied by live music.

Additionally, the Santouri section and the Adult Dance section participated in an event organized by the Peloponnesians Association of Lesvos ‘Morias’. Titled ‘Morias dresses... and the villages dance’, the event showcased traditional dances, music, and authentic Morias traditional costumes, fostering a connection between Lesvos and Peloponnesian traditions.
