Agibot tests humanoid robots in 24-hour Shanghai convenience store trial

Agibot, a Chinese manufacturer, conducted a 24-hour experiment titled “Robots Never Clock Out” using six G2 series humanoid robots in a convenience store located in the Xuhui district of Shanghai. The trial aimed to simulate various operational conditions, including high-traffic lunch hours and nighttime shifts.

During the period, the robots performed a total of 1,730 tasks, such as greeting 683 customers, preparing 147 coffees, delivering 369 products, and completing 128 table cleaning duties. The test included rigorous challenges, such as distinguishing between different types of beverages and navigating obstacles.

While four robots met performance expectations, two failed the final evaluation. One robot tasked with shelf inspection lacked the initiative to keep up with stock rotation. Another robot assigned to cleaning left the establishment and wandered away after encountering a full trash bin during the night shift.
