Agilis Restores Nuremberg‑Regensburg Train Service After Six‑Month Closure

After a six‑month suspension for a corridor renovation carried out by DB InfraGO AG, Agilis resumed regular passenger trains on the Nuremberg‑Regensburg line on Saturday, 1 August. Hourly RE 50 and RE 22 services now run between Nuremberg, Regensburg and Munich Airport, while the RB 51 connects Neumarkt and Regensburg roughly every 45 minutes. The temporary rail‑replacement bus service has been discontinued.

Agilis CEO Gerhard Knöbel thanked passengers for their patience during the extended construction period. Although the main line is back in operation, several speed‑restriction zones remain, and occasional delays or missed connections are still possible. Work at stations may also cause minor disruptions. The section between Obertraubling and Plattling stays closed for further corridor work until at least 12 December 2026.
