Agility Robotics expands humanoid robot deployment in US logistics and manufacturing
Agility Robotics is expanding the deployment of its Digit humanoid robots through new partnerships in the United States. GXO Logistics will deploy the robots at two additional logistics centers in Statesville, North Carolina, and Lebanon, Tennessee, starting in 2027. These robots are intended to handle repetitive material handling and e-commerce fulfillment tasks, building on a successful pilot program in Georgia where the robots moved over 100,000 units.
In the manufacturing sector, AGCO, an international agricultural machinery producer, has signed an agreement to test Digit robots at its factory in Hesston, Kansas. The pilot program, also scheduled for 2027, aims to use the humanoids to support assembly and production lines. Specific tasks include sorting parts, stacking components, and placing containers in storage to improve material flow.
Both deployments leverage Agility Robotics' technology to operate in environments originally designed for humans. The company notes that customers are moving past the testing phase of functionality and are now actively deciding where to implement the technology.
