Agility Robotics selects Nyobolt batteries for Digit 5 humanoid robot
Agility Robotics has announced that its next-generation humanoid robot, Digit 5, will utilize Nyobolt battery technology to significantly increase operational uptime. The new system is designed to provide 90 minutes of runtime from just a nine-minute charge, achieving a 10:1 run-to-charge ratio. This is a substantial improvement over the Digit 4, which had a 2:1 ratio.
The goal of this upgrade is to allow Digit 5 to complete more than 20 hours of productive work within a 24-hour period, effectively supporting more than two full work shifts. This capability aims to improve the economic viability of deploying humanoid robot fleets in manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics sectors by minimizing downtime.
Nyobolt’s high-power technology focuses on delivering higher power output from smaller, lighter battery packs while maintaining durability for harsh industrial environments. Early trials for Digit 5 are expected to begin in the first half of 2027, with supply expanding in the following six to nine months. Agility Robotics is also currently pursuing a public listing via a merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI, expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
