Agios Panteleimonas: Elderly man assaulted and robbed of cross

An elderly man, identified as Mr. Dimitris, was the victim of a violent robbery in the Agios Panteleimonas area of Nea Ionia. The incident occurred during the afternoon on Ionia Avenue while the man was walking his dog.

Two assailants approached the victim; one reportedly used an iron bar to threaten him before the situation escalated into physical violence. During the attack, one of the perpetrators punched the man and forcibly removed the cross he was wearing around his neck. The suspects fled the scene on foot immediately after the theft.

Local reports suggest the perpetrators may be part of a group responsible for repeated thefts in the area. Authorities are currently conducting investigations to identify and apprehend the suspects. The victim remains in a state of shock following the encounter.
