Agios Panteleimonas: Two arrested for attempting to defraud 99-year-old woman

Two men, aged 24 and 25, were arrested in Agios Panteleimonas for attempting to defraud a 99-year-old woman. The suspects allegedly posed as employees of an electricity provider, claiming there was a power leak to convince the woman to leave jewelry and cash outside her home in a bag.

Police intervened after the victim's son alerted authorities. Officers caught the 25-year-old attempting to flee the scene while trying to collect the items, and the 24-year-old, acting as a lookout, was apprehended in a nearby vehicle.

Investigations revealed the duo belonged to a criminal group responsible for multiple scams. They were also linked to attempts to defraud a 57-year-old woman in Glyfada. Authorities have solved three fraud cases across Agios Panteleimonas, Glyfada, and Ambelokipi, with total losses exceeding 13,000 euros.
