Agirc-Arrco pension increases and rule changes announced
The Agirc-Arrco supplementary pension scheme for private-sector employees in France is preparing for a scheduled increase in pension amounts in November 2026. Current projections suggest the revaluation rate will fall between 1.2% and 2%, following a period where negotiations failed to produce an increase.
Recent structural changes to the Agirc-Arrco system, stemming from an October 2023 agreement, have also altered rules for new retirees. Notable modifications include the removal of the 10% solidarity coefficient (a temporary penalty for certain full-rate retirees) and the elimination of bonuses previously granted to those who delayed retirement by two years or more. These changes affect how points are valued and how employees can combine work with retirement benefits.
