Agirc-Arrco pension updates: 2026 forecasts and error corrections
Agirc-Arrco, the mandatory complementary pension scheme for private sector employees in France, is facing two distinct developments regarding retiree payments.
Regarding future adjustments, the revaluation of pensions is expected to be decided in mid-October 2026, with implementation scheduled for November 1, 2026. Based on inflation forecasts, the increase is projected to range between 1.2% and 2%. For a pension of €1,000, a 2% increase would represent a monthly gain of €20. The service value of the Agirc-Arrco point is currently set at €1.4386 for 2026, pending final social partner arbitration in the autumn.
Separately, a targeted regularization process is underway to address administrative and IT anomalies. Approximately 100,000 files have been identified as containing errors, such as suspended or insufficient pension payments. This is not a universal bonus or an exceptional aid package, but rather a correction of rights for specific retirees who were underpaid due to processing errors. The amounts of these retroactive payments will vary significantly depending on the individual history of each affected file.
