Agit Kabayel honored in Bochum following WBC title win

Boxing heavyweight champion Agit Kabayel was honored in his hometown of Bochum during a ceremony at the city hall. Kabayel, who has remained undefeated in 27 professional fights, was entered into the city’s ‘Golden Book’.

Following his entry into the Golden Book, Kabayel and Mayor Jörg Lukat appeared on the town hall balcony, where the World Boxing Council (WBC) officially presented him with his championship belt. Kabayel became the regular WBC heavyweight champion after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the title.

Kabayel is noted as the first German heavyweight world champion since Max Schmeling in 1932. The event drew approximately 1,000 fans to the town hall square to celebrate the athlete’s achievement.
